Committee of area school superintendents and business leaders. Initiated project to formalize and expand an existing but limited practice of inter-district student enrollment.
New York State Workforce Investment Board. Appointed by Governor George Pataki. Accomplishments included creation of a workforce readiness certificate program to enhance the credibility of high school graduates achieving employment.
Charter board member of Vestal School Foundation. Selection of special projects submitted by teachers, administrators or students to be funded by private donations.
Teacher consultant in the Tri Cities area of suburbanBoston (Malden,Medford,Everett). Provided consultation to teachers regarding problem students. This consultation project focused on enhancing teachers’ ability to manage their own reactions to problem students and implement better behavior management and learning engagement tactics.
Chapter 766 consultant, Danvers State Hospital,Danvers,MA. Developed educational plans for institutionalized students as required by state law.
Universal Instruments Corporation, Dover Corporation. Implemented an expanded employee education and tuition reimbursement program. In collaboration with the local community college offered for credit courses at the workplace for non-degreed manufacturing employees using the Tech Prep curriculum. Implemented an innovative program where community college professors were hired as manufacturing workers during the summer to enhance their understanding of workplace requirements in high tech manufacturing.
